Why Unilorin Expelled 108 Fresh Students

More details have emerged on why the University of Ilorin
expelled more than 108 fresh students of the institution
shortly after their matriculation.
Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, Vice-Chancellor of the university,
disclosed on Monday in Ilorin that the students were sent
packing for gaining admission through fraud.
Ambali, in a discussion with Sam Okaula, Kwara State
Commissioner of Police in his office at the university
campus, said the university’s policies on stable academic
activities have caused as situation where al manner of
candidates aspireto gain admission into Unilorin: “This
results in some candidates seeking illegal and unauthorised
ways to gain admission into the university.”
He reiterated the university’s stance on zero tolerance for
cultism and indecent dressing, stressing, which have helped
to ensure law and order on campus.
On his part, Okaula said the university was regarded as one
of the best universities in Africa because of its stable
academic calendar.
